As well as being a designer I am also an actor. One of my very first acting roles was in this comedy blap for Channel 4 called Brad Boyz. I played the lead role as 1 of the 4 "boyz". Whilst the pilot was in its editing stages during post-production, I decided to ask the director whether he required an intro to which he replied yes, so I put my skills to use and started to make the intro for Brad Boyz. The director said he envisioned something along the lines of photos of the 4 main characters popping up from being a baby to a teenager to represent their long childhood friendship, and the rest was left to me. I firstly chose the song 'Boyz' by M.I.A. as the title of the song related to the title of the show and it included an upbeat sound which I felt represented the Bradford area (as that's where the show is based) and its large South-Asian community quite well. In terms of visuals I knew I wanted it to have bright colours with patterns to reflect the comedy element of the show but also to represent visuals usually seen in South-Asian culture. Unfortunately due to timing restrictions of the programme there wasn't enough space for a 30 second intro and so my intro wasn't used. I also didn't manage to receive the photography from all of the cast which meant my intro wasn't seen through to its final form, however it was still a fun & personal project for myself as it marked my first ever major acting job and it showcases my Photoshop, Illustrator & After Effects skills quite nicely. Below is my intro for Brad Boyz and the full pilot episode.
